After you have shown interest in participating in a research study, a study coordinator from Koch Family Medicine will contact you. You will be asked a series of questions in regards to your medical condition(s). Your answers to these questions will help determine whether you are eligible for the research study.
YOUR FIRST VISIT
The pre-screening questions from the first phone call will determine your eligibility for the study, but your first visit to Koch Family Medicine will determine if you qualify in the research study. There are physical requirements that need to be met in order to qualify. During the first visit your physician will:
Conduct a physical exam
Review your medical history
Conduct necessary tests
Review the specifics of the study and include the risks
Address any questions you may have regarding the study
ENROLLMENT
If it is determined after your first visit that you qualify for the research study, you will be asked to sign the informed consent documentation given to you by KFM. After signing, you will be considered enrolled and will be given further instructions that will regard to your medical treatment through the study
FOLLOW-UP VISITS
Every research study is different, but you may be required to schedule and complete follow-up visits throughout the duration of your participation within the study. While at your final visit, you will be asked to provide an overview of your experience and your results. Additionally, depending on the study, compensation may be provided at the completion of the visit of of the study period.
